KBC DRT-X Camo Combat MX Helmet | Green & Black Full-Face Off-Road Protection

kbc-green-camo-mx-helmet.jpg

I really like the look of the new 08 model KBC camo army style helmet. Being one of the top rated helmet makers, these guys sure know what they’re doing. That’s probably why KBC features their logo so prominently on the helmet and visor.

The shell is very tough, solvent resistant, and meets or exceeds both SNELL and DOT safety standards. It’s also full faced with a chin guard. So you can be sure that your head is getting the very best protection.

Several nice features will also make you more comfortable when riding. First, it has rear exhaust vents for your comfort to keep you cool. Next, the new multi positional visor design gives you better control over debris and the sun. Finally, the inner comfort liner can easily be removed and is fully washable. The sizes range from extra small to medium to extra large.

Sweet looking, safe, and comfortable. What more could you want?

Moose Racing ATV Thumb Throttle

moose-thumb-throttles.jpg

Count me in as a guy who prefers riding a quad using thumb throttles. That’s because when you ride on rough terrain using a twist throttle, its much easier to get into trouble. On rough ground when you hit ruts and bumps the force can make you twist and increase the throttle at the worst moment. That can be very dangerous. I’ve even heard people call twist throttles suicide throttles.

A thumb throttle on the other hand gives you more control riding the trails. The downside some people find is that their thumbs can get fatigued after a few hours of riding. Really, It’s a matter of preference, and depends on where and how you ride.

Moose Racing makes some good ones.

Features of the Moose Racing Thumb Throttle

  • Machined from solid billet aluminum
  • Interchangeable with stock thumb throttle cables
  • Designed to easily open to a 44mm carburettor
  • Colors: Black, Blue, Polish, Red

Whether riding an ATV or a dirt bike, a good chest protector (AKA roost deflector) can save you from serious injuries in the event of a crash. You’ll be glad you had the right protection after a bad enough spill.

Chest protectors don’t have to feel restrictive. This one from Alpinestars gives freer shoulder mobility because it was designed with articulated front and rear panels. This pivoting shoulder design is very unrestrictive.

That’s not the only feature that enhances your comfort. All contact areas are padded with bio-foam. You’ll also feel much cooler because of the build in ventilation. The upper arm protectors can be removed too, but for safety reasons, it’s better to leave them on.
